Add Room Sensor Ecobee

A room sensor may have come packaged with your ecobee smart thermostat.

Remove your sensor from its packaging. Storing your room sensor if you do not wish to use the room sensor delete it from the ecobee3 sensors menu and disconnect the battery. Select a location for your room sensor where it can sense the ambient room temperature without having a clear view of the room turned away from the room or tucked behind your family portrait. If this is the case follow the below steps to add the unwanted room sensor to the ignored sensors list.

Place them in the rooms that matter the most and have the temperature balanced throughout your whole home. Depending on the desired placement location of your sensor you may opt to use the stand it comes packaged with. If you live in a populated area where a neighbor owns an ecobee your ecobee thermostat may be detecting their unpaired sensor. Measuring both occupancy and temperature sensors signal your ecobee smart thermostat to automatically switch to the right mode for comfort when you re home or for savings when you re not.
